With these diplomas, you are authorized to sail in France, Europe, the Caribbean and French overseas departments and territories. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/List-MOUs.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Details of navigation zones concerned<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2What<\/strong>is STCW?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 1978 STCW Convention was the first international convention to establish basic requirements for seafarer training, certification and watchkeeping at international level.<br\/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imo.org\/fr\/about\/Conventions\/Pages\/International-Convention-on-Standards-of-Training,-Certification-and-Watchkeeping-for-Seafarers-(STCW).aspx#:~:text=aux%20r%C3%A9unions%20%C3%89v%C3%A9nements-,Convention%20internationale%20sur%20les%20normes%20de%20formation%20des%20gens%20de,brevets%20et%20de%20veille%20(STCW)text=La%20Convention%20STCW%20de%201978,la%20veille%20au%20niveau%20international.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">To find out more, click here.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3What<\/strong>are the limits of the Master 200 GT?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Master 200 GT allows you to become Captain of a boat of around 24 m (200 UMS), limited to 30 minutes from a shelter.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4What<\/strong>are the limits of the Master 500 GT?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Master 500 GT allows you to captain a boat of up to 50 m (500 UMS), limited to 200 minutes from shelter.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5What<\/strong>are the limits of the Master 500 GT unlimited?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like the Master 500 GT, the Master 500 GT Unlimited allows you to captain a boat of up to 50 m (500 UMS), with no coastal limits.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>6Can I<\/strong>spread my The Yachter training over more than 6 months?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, you can progress at your own pace. Training can be spread over a period of up to 2 years after registration. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7If<\/strong>I fail, can I retake the exam?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every effort is made to ensure that candidates who take The Yachter training pass their exams.<br\/>Our trainers accompany you and only present you for the exam once they feel you are in a position to pass. This is why The Yachter boasts <strong>a 98% exam success rate.<\/strong><br\/>However, if you fail, you can of course take the exam again. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>8What<\/strong>would it cost to take the exam a second time?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The courses remain available on your learning space at no extra cost.<br\/>If you fail the theory exam, the cost will be \u20ac1,200.<br\/>If you fail the practical exam, the cost will be \u20ac500, including vessel hire, diesel and time spent with the examiner.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>9Can I<\/strong>work with other students taking the same diploma?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, it&#8217;s strongly recommended!<br\/>This contributes in part to the success of our trainees.<br\/>Our teams encourage you in this approach by creating work and exchange groups between trainees of the same class.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>10Are<\/strong>there any face-to-face courses?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We limit the number of face-to-face courses to avoid any inconvenience.<br\/>Of course, the practical exam will always be taken face-to-face.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>11Can I<\/strong>benefit from state aid for professional training?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>Yes, The Yachter training course is eligible for funding from training funds under certain conditions.<br\/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/en\/contact\/\">Contact us for more information.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>12Do you have<\/strong>partner centers to take the offshore license? CRO? CFBS ? CGO ?   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, our partner centers are fully familiar with The Yachter methodology and can help you prepare for the final exam, which requires the offshore license, CRO, CFBS and CGO.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>13Can I<\/strong>pay in instalments?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, it is possible to pay in 2 instalments.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>14Is<\/strong>there an age limit?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must be of legal age to take The Yachter training course and pass the exam.<br\/>There is no maximum age. Only a medical examination is required. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>15What<\/strong>computer equipment do I need to access the courses?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All computers are compatible with our educational platform as long as they have Internet access.<br\/>However, some bugs and limitations may occur on certain versions of the Mac OS or Android environments.<br\/>For optimal use of the educational platform, we therefore recommend using Edge or Firefox browsers on Windows environments (which represent over 90% of the installed base).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>16Can I<\/strong>consult courses off-line?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, training materials are available offline.<br\/>If you&#8217;re on a transatlantic crossing or have difficult access to the Internet, an additional module is available for a fee.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">USEFUL LINKS<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have a question?
