AND ROUTE<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Yachter method is based on <strong>flexible hybrid training,<\/strong> combining distance learning, <strong>individualized coaching<\/strong> and face-to-face practical assessments.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on your profile, your preparation can be supplemented by additional training courses (theoretical or practical), as well as specific refresher courses, particularly in maritime English.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Master 500 GT Commercial Yachting<\/strong> certificate of competence is issued in accordance with <strong>regulation II\/3 of the STCW Convention.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/picto-public-concerne%CC%81-formation-capitaine.png\" alt=\"Public concerned captain training\" width=\"47\" height=\"30\"\/> Target audience<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This training course is aimed at <strong>professional sea captains<\/strong> who already hold a title complying with regulation II\/3 of the STCW Convention, such as :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>Master 200 GT Commercial Yachting<\/strong> from the Kingdom of Belgium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>French Captain 200<\/strong>, with or without Sailing module or Yacht module<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An English <strong>MCA Master of Yacht 200 GT <\/strong>title<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or any other international 200 GT Captain&#8217;s certificate complying with the requirements of STCW rule II\/3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"32\"\/>  Preparation time<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preparation generally lasts from <strong>6 months to 1 year<\/strong>, depending on the time you have available.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pace is flexible and supervised, to ensure effective progress towards the required level.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"51\" height=\"35\"\/>  Examination period<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Training courses and certification exams are organized in partnership with an approved Belgian training center, generally at the rate of <strong>1 to 2 complete sessions per year<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Between October and the end of December<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Between January and May<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Some stages of the course require a physical presence<\/strong>, notably for practical training and access to the Radar simulator.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preparation and training sessions can be offered in different areas, particularly in the south of France, depending on modules and availability.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional STCW-specific training courses (CQALI, CAEERS, EM-2 and CGO) can be taken at the centers of your choice, depending on your location.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As the number of places is extremely limited,<\/strong> registration for exam sessions is subject to prior validation of your existing objective<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim is to help you develop your skills as a captain and prepare you for the <strong>Master Commercial Yachting 500 GT certificate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This certificate of competency enables you to carry out a professional activity in sailing and\/or motor yachting, in compliance with international regulations.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Yachter&#8217;s teaching team is made up of experienced professionals who hold international patents issued by Belgium, France and the UK.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their <strong>expertise in the various training courses<\/strong> enables them to provide precise support, adapted to the requirements of international class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The course is structured in four progressive stages, combining theory and practical preparation:<\/em><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Officer Of Watch (OOW) 500 module &#8211; Theoretical training<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Review of the fundamentals and acquisition of additional skills: navigation, international conventions, COLREGs, weather, tides, maritime English and watchkeeping. This course gradually prepares you for the training courses and certification exams held at an approved center, in line with international STCW standards. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Radar\/ARPA module &#8211; Theoretical and practical simulator preparation<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Radar configuration, gain settings, EBL and VRM. Training for operational situations: Radar positioning, using Radar to determine collision risks. Efficient use of true and relative tracks and vectors.  <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Master 500 module<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In-depth command skills: stability, ship management, onboard documentation, towing and salvage, regulations and insurance, charter contracts.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Module Final Assessment<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Production of a voyage plan of around 150-200NM in accordance with SOLAS regulations. Maintenance and validation of the mandatory Cadet Training Book for 500GT officers and captains. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Intensive course (optional)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>An intensive 4-day course is offered several times a year in Toulon or on the coast between Nice and Marseille. It is devoted to targeted theoretical revision and consolidation of knowledge in preparation for exams. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>It is particularly recommended for candidates who have little time to prepare remotely, or who wish to reinforce their skills in chart work, tidal calculations, COLREG and meteorology.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course outline<br\/>Master Commercial Yachting 500 GT<\/h2>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/etape1.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Access to monitoring and the platform<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As soon as you register, you&#8217;ll have access to <strong>our training platform<\/strong> and the Brevet Master Commercial Yachting 500 GT course.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You start with the OOW modules and benefit from personalized remote support.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>Master 500GT Unlimited instructor<\/strong> will be your single point of contact, guiding you through the technical and administrative aspects of your training.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/elearning.yachter.fr\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ACCESS TO OUR TRAINING PLATFORM<\/a><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/etape2.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Access to OOW 500 training and theory test<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once your level has been validated by The Yachter&#8217;s training team, <strong>you take the OOW 500 exams<\/strong> at one of our partner training centers.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This face-to-face session lasts around 4 days.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/etape3.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RADAR\/ARPA theoretical and practical examination<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This stage validates your <strong>operational skills in a real-life situation <\/strong>in all aspects of Radar use.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This part will take the form of a day of theory, either remote or in Belgium, followed by 2 days in a Radar simulator (simulator in Antwerp, Belgium), during which you will gradually be taken through the relevant and precise use of Radar in different scenarios (day, night or in restricted visibility, for positioning, target detection and anti-collision strategies).<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/etape4.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Master 500 exam<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The assessment validates <strong>command and management<\/strong> skills, and also covers regulatory and insurance aspects<strong>. <\/strong>This training will be delivered remotely over 5 days.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yachter.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/etape-cinq-master-commercial-yachting-the-yachter.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examen Final Assessment<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you&#8217;ve prepared a voyage plan of around 150-200 nautical miles, with the help of your instructor, and filled in your training booklet, you&#8217;ll enter the final stage of your course, by having these two elements reviewed and validated by the relevant authorities. This assessment will take place over a one-day period in Belgium. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\"
