The city of Nice is currently working on its tramway, which will link the port to the airport.<\/p>\n
It’s a fine project, for which a conveyor belt has been built along the lines of the mining works to evacuate tunnel construction waste to a barge along the Quai de la Douane.<\/p>\n
As a result, La Panne is temporarily closed to passing boats and we will not be able to welcome visitors for many months to come.<\/p>\n
A Notice to Mariners has been published warning of the danger of the crane at the loading dock:<\/p>\n
“As part of the tramway works at the Port of Nice, a gantry crane has been installed on the Quai de la Douane to load waste from the tunnel boring machine.<\/em><\/p>\n This gantry extends 9.30 meters out from the quay, at a maximum height of 8.01 meters above the water. It is not retractable. <\/em><\/p>\n It moves in translation along most of the length of the platform.<\/em><\/p>\n At night, the gantry is indicated at its end by a flashing red light.”<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The city of Nice is currently working on its tramway, which will link the port to the airport.
