Lazzarini Design Studio’s 74-meter “flying” yacht concept Plectrum revealed<\/p>\n\n

History and concept<\/h2>\n\n

A 74-meter hydrofoil yacht concept called Plectrum has been revealed by the Italian Lazzarini Design Studio.<\/p>\n\n

The design is inspired by more contemporary America’s Cup yachts – in particular the Luna Rossa design – and is said to be the largest example of foil technology installed on a yacht. An impressive top speed of 75 knots is expected, and the yacht will be built entirely in carbon.<\/p>\n\n

The hydrofoil superyacht has been designed to achieve its impressive top speeds by “flying over the waterline”. Instead of being pushed by the wind, Plectrum is lifted above the water and moves by propulsion from three hydrogen engines capable of 5,000 hp each.<\/p>\n\n

The Super Yacht with state-of-the-art technology<\/h2>\n\n

Its hydrofoil technology has been designed with an adjustable beam of up to 20 meters, which can be reduced to 15 meters when the yacht is moored or at anchor. The draft would be 6.5 meters.<\/p>\n\n

Finished in a striking burnt-orange hue, Plectrum’s exterior design is defined by a sleek, streamlined silhouette with flat arched sides that form the side decks and garage openings.<\/p>\n\n

The yacht’s living spaces are spread over four decks, with the main body offering six guest cabins and an owner’s suite.<\/p>\n\n

The yacht also features a helipad forward and a large beach lounge aft with swimming pool. There’s a warehouse amidships, and a garage aft for one car.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
