On July1,<\/sup> 2016, the Prefect of the Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d’Azur region issued a decree establishing the new perimeter of the Parc National de Port Cros. Five communes that have signed the park’s development charter are included: Hy\u00e8res-les-Palmiers, La Croix-Valmer, La Garde, Le Pradet and Ramatuelle. <\/p>\n

A glance at the map is all it takes to understand that the total surface area of the Par has been multiplied by 7, stretching from Hy\u00e8res to Ramatuelle.<\/p>\n

The usual soothing administrative formulation is to declare:<\/p>\n

The aim is to reconcile economic development and tourism with the preservation of the biodiversity of the natural terrestrial and marine environments, and the cultural and heritage identity of the area, and ultimately, to preserve and enhance the quality of life of the current and future inhabitants of the islands and coastline.<\/em><\/p>\n

What role will yachting play in the Port Cros National Park?<\/p>\n

The lesser evil will be the adoption of moorings on buoys, the worse the extension of prohibited mooring zones.<\/p>\n
