Nicolas Daher completed the Master 500 GT Captain training course.
A former refrigeration engineer in charge of the African continent, it’s now eight years since he obtained his certificate with The Yachter. He shares with us his feedback on the training he underwent.

The Yachter : “ What was your background as a sailor before joining The Yachter? “

Nicolas: “I’ve done a lot of IRC racing and also cruising. I’ve had the opportunity to sail in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the North Sea.”

The Yachter : “ What training did you receive at The Yachter? “

Nicolas: “I took the Master 500 GT Captain’s course.

The Yachter: “What motivated your desire/need to take the Captain Master 500 GT course, and for what reason(s) did you choose The Yachter?”

Nicolas : “It was through a friend who advised me to take the Belgian route rather than the French one, which is much more tedious, especially given my age.”

The Yachter: “What were the three things you liked best about training at The Yachter?”

Nicolas: “The speed of the course, the simplicity of the training and the European recognition of the certificate obtained.”

The Yachter: “What would be the most important thing for you to recommend The Yachter to other sailors like yourself?”

Nicolas: “The effectiveness of the training is The Yachter’s main asset: fast, simple and recognized at European level. The e-learning format is also an important point, as it enabled me to train while continuing my professional activity.”

Why choose The Yachter as your Captain?

To work as a Captain and sail for commercial purposes, skippering your own boat (or carrying passengers on another vessel), you need to hold a certificate that complies with the requirements.

There are two main options for sailors wishing to become Captains and sail under the French flag:

1 – Obtain the French Capitaine 200 or Capitaine 500 (2? years of schooling, expensive training and at least 6 months at sea).

2 – Either obtain the Captain Master 200 GT or Captain Master 500 GT offered by The Yachter :
