METHOD AND ROUTE
The Yachter method is based on flexible hybrid training, combining distance learning, individualized coaching and face-to-face practical assessments.
Depending on your profile, your preparation can be supplemented by additional training courses (theoretical or practical), as well as specific refresher courses, particularly in maritime English.
The Master 500 GT Commercial Yachting certificate of competence is issued in accordance with regulation II/3 of the STCW Convention.
Target audience
This training course is aimed at professional sea captains who already hold a title complying with regulation II/3 of the STCW Convention, such as :
- A Master 200 GT Commercial Yachting from the Kingdom of Belgium
- A French Captain 200, with or without Sailing module or Yacht module
- An English MCA Master of Yacht 200 GT title
- Or any other international 200 GT Captain's certificate complying with the requirements of STCW rule II/3
Preparation time
Preparation generally lasts from 6 months to 1 year, depending on the time you have available.
The pace is flexible and supervised, to ensure effective progress towards the required level.
Examination period
Training courses and certification exams are organized in partnership with an approved Belgian training center, generally at the rate of 1 to 2 complete sessions per year:
- Between October and the end of December
- Between January and May
Some stages of the course require a physical presence, notably for practical training and access to the Radar simulator.
Preparation and training sessions can be offered in different areas, particularly in the south of France, depending on modules and availability.
Additional STCW-specific training courses (CQALI, CAEERS, EM-2 and CGO) can be taken at the centers of your choice, depending on your location.
As the number of places is extremely limited, registration for the exam sessions is subject to prior validation of your existing credentials by The Yachter.
Training objective
The aim is to help you develop your skills as a captain and prepare you for the Master Commercial Yachting 500 GT certificate.
This certificate of competency enables you to carry out a professional activity in sailing and/or motor yachting, in compliance with international regulations.
Teaching team
The Yachter's teaching team is made up of experienced professionals who hold international patents issued by Belgium, France and the UK.
Their expertise in the various training courses enables them to provide precise support, adapted to the requirements of international standards.
