THE BENCHMARK PREPARATORY SCHOOL FOR YACHT CAPTAINS

Since 2016, The Yachter has established itself in the yachting industry as a school specializing in Captain's certificate preparation, aimed at candidates who already have sailing experience.

A pioneer in its field, The Yachter helps candidates prepare for the Belgian Master Commercial Yachting certification, which complies with international STCW standards.
The Yachter supports experienced sailors wishing to professionalize and evolve towards professional yachting, by offering training tailored to their experience and objectives.

The Yachter training course was created in 2016 under approval number: 93830642183. It was in 2021 that Cédric Bourgat discovered The Yachter and joined the course to take his Captain's license. Enthused by the quality of the coaching and his passion for sailing, he bought the company after obtaining his certificate.

On June 29, 2022, the company changed its status from an Entreprise Individuelle (EI) to a Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS). The Yachter is now registered under the French approval number 93132045713.

a journey guided by the sea

"Passionate about the Sea since childhood, equally at ease under sail or motor, I realized my dream at age 20 of living on my sailboat in Marseille's Old Port.
A regatta sailor at heart, after crossing the Atlantic and exploring the West Indies, my children decided to turn to motor yachting.
In 2018, I'm faced with an obstacle: how do I sail legally as Captain?

The Captain 200 is not suited to my current professional situation. I couldn't commit to a Captain 200 course because of my professional obligations, so I discovered The Yachter and its Master Commercial Yachting 200GT course, which would enable me to work under the French flag.

Convinced by the effectiveness of the training, I took over The Yachter with Gaëlle Darmon to offer future Captains a rigorous and recognized apprenticeship."
