Children of the 60s will remember this American pilot who never hesitates to risk his life to save his comrades and to do his duty.
Good feelings, a tempered character, a sense of humor – the archetypal American hero, much in demand at the time.
The aircraft carrier appears in the “Adventures of Buck Danny” series: “Green Death Valley”, “Sharks in the China Sea” and “Ghost Queen”.
It was the setting for part of Top Gun
Serving from 1957 to 1993, he took part in the Vietnam War.
She was scrapped in 2015, after a 4-month journey from the West Coast to Texas, unable, due to her size, to cross the Panama Canal. It is now being dismantled at its last yard.
