This racing yacht, built in New York in the thirties and helmed by two Spanish sailors, never made it to Palma de Majorca, its port of destination in the Balearic Islands (Spain). The yacht left Cannes on Friday, April 29. The disappearance of the 14-meter sailboat was reported on Monday May 2 by its owner, according to the Préfecture Maritime de Méditerranée in Toulon. French airborne resources engaged over the next two days to “cover a vast area” were unable to locate the Sirius.
