Named after a titan…Atlas lifts the world’s biggest yachts. Already operational for several days, it was officially inaugurated with great fanfare this Tuesday at the La Ciotat shipyards.
This elevator is capable of lifting yachts up to 115 meters long and weighing up to 4,300 tons. The installation of this platform required 30 months’ work at a cost of 77 million euros.
“It’s like a giant Tetris: the boat enters and wedges itself on the platform, which then lifts it up and pivots it so that it goes, on the rails, to park”.
